Rotary seals

In addition to the complete range of shapes and dimensions of radial shaft seals according to DIN 3760/3761, we also supply all designs of axial shaft seals (V-rings) as well as shaft sleeves. Seals for rotary distributors, rotary actuators, hydraulic motors and tool spindles of all types are manufactured for rotary / swivel movements.

Standard profiles

The standard profiles shown below are seals that represent the state of the art. We manufacture these standard seals in-house or supply them as moulded parts from approved partners for all required groove dimensions in a variety of materials.

Depending on the quantity, the material and your requirements, we will offer you seals in the appropriate manufacturing process.

Choosing the correct profile

The more information is known, the better a sealing system can be adapted to a specific application.

Numerous applications can not be sealed with rotary shaft seals. The applications listed below require special rotary seals.

Sealing profile for hydraulic applications, very robust but not low-friction, center part usually made of PU.

Proven many times over, very small, single-acting sealing profile for low pressures made of NBR, PU, FPM etc.

Rotary seals with leader elements made of elastomer

Rotary seals with a preload element consist of an outer ring made, for example, of PTFE, PTFE compound, PE, PU, PA and an O-ring or rectangular ring. The outer rings are usually turned parts and can therefore be manufactured in a very wide range of dimensions.

Sliding ring for O-ring. If the friction of a pure O-ring seal is too high or the O-ring tends to rotate, this PTFE and PTFE compound seal ring can help. The DR115 and DR116 profiles represent the improved version.

Double-acting rotary seal (rods or pistons) consisting of a PTFE compound base ring and an O-ring as preload element. E.g. for high pressures at low circumferential speed. Simple groove design and small axial installation space. Wide temperature application range depending on O-ring material. Small coefficient of friction. Up to 300 bar, up to 5 m/s. It is essential to observe the sealing gap. Special designs are possible, e.g. with support ring made of PEEK for higher pressures/larger gaps or with reduced preload, particularly narrow design, etc.
