Flat seals /
Static seals

Flat seals are typically used for static sealing applications.
We manufacture and supply flat seals for a wide range of applications. Whether machined, stamped, water jet cut, injection molded or cast, we can respond to any customer need.
Depending on the quantity and application, we also supply molded parts from a wide range of materials from certified trading partners in Europe.
Most of the profiles shown are also available as linear sealing strips. Here, the transition between sealing technology and plastic structural parts is fluid.

Frequently asked questions about flat seals
Flat seals are static seals between two flat surfaces (e.g., flanges, housings, or covers). They seal by being deformed by contact pressure, thereby compensating for unevenness in the sealing surfaces.
Flat seals are used for static sealing between two flat component surfaces, e.g., on flanges, housings, or covers. Typical areas of application are pipeline, plant, and mechanical engineering; suitability depends primarily on the medium, pressure, temperature, and available surface pressure.
Flat seals can be made of elastomers (e.g., NBR, EPDM, FKM), plastics (e.g., PTFE, PEEK) or fiber-reinforced materials. Depending on the application, PU and material combinations such as NBR inner part with PTFE cover are also possible.
Flat seals can be requested from Hänssler Kunststoff- und Dichtungstechnik via the contact form, by phone, or by email. In addition to standard profiles, Hänssler specializes in manufacturing custom profiles and can use high-performance plastics for demanding applications.
