Hänssler reaches the jury round of the Grand Prize for Medium-Sized Businesses

Hänssler Kunststoff- und Dichtungstechnik GmbH has reached the jury round of the Grand Prize for Medium-Sized Businesses (Großer Preis des Mittelstandes), one of Germany’s most prestigious business awards. Presented annually since 1995 by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation, it honors small and medium-sized companies for their overall performance and their role in society. The certificate was accepted by company founder Dipl.-Ing. Andreas Hänssler.
This year, 4,822 companies were on the nomination list. Only 476 reached the jury round. In the plastics, glass, and chemical industry category, just 17 did so nationwide, two of them from the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Hänssler is the only company from the state’s plastics industry still in the running for this prestigious award.
The news magazine DIE WELT calls it the most coveted business distinction in Germany. What sets it apart is that it doesn’t judge revenue or growth alone, but the company as a whole – its development over the years, its role in the region, the way it treats its employees and customers. “That is the standard we hold ourselves to at Hänssler.”
The regional ceremony took place on Wednesday in Mannheim-Friedrichsfeld. “We got to know many companies and their business models there, and the evening left plenty of room for great conversations. The talk and the following panel discussion on collaboration between startups and the Mittelstand stayed with us in particular.”
The evening was hosted by Josef Stumpf, head of the Baden-Württemberg economic region at the BVWM. His moderation was a highlight, as always. “Hänssler is one of my favorite companies,” he said as he called Hänssler onto the stage. “Alongside the certificate, that was another great recognition for us. Our thanks go to the LIEBLANG service group and the Oskar Patzelt Foundation for a successful event. Evenings like these are a reminder of how much we in the Mittelstand learn from each other when we sit down and talk.”
