Spring-loaded seals

Piston, rod and rotary seals can also be supplied in spring-loaded variants. The seals are particularly well-suited for use in aggressive media and high temperatures. Also, silicone fillings, are interesting applications, especially in the food industry and medical technology. To prevent deposits and allow optimum cleaning, the spring chamber is filled with silicone.

By the standard profiles shown, we mean seals that represent the state of the art.

We manufacture these standard seals for all required groove dimensions from a variety of materials. We do not have to limit ourselves to the standard dimensions of the sealing industry. In a diameter range from a few millimeters to 3000 mm, we supply everything from a single source.

What is a spring-loaded seal?

A spring-loaded seal is a special type of seal in which an integrated spring presses the seal body against the surfaces to be sealed with constant force.

How does the spring-loaded seal work?

A spring-loaded seal uses a metal spring integrated into the sealing body, which continuously presses the sealing lips against the surfaces to be sealed. During installation, the spring is compressed radially, thus generating a constant sealing force that acts even without system pressure. As soon as operating pressure is applied, this additionally supports the spring force and increases the sealing effect.

What are areas of application for spring-loaded seals?

Spring-loaded seals are used wherever particularly high demands are placed on tightness, temperature or chemical resistance and conventional seals would fail. Typical areas of application are demanding industrial systems such as oil and gas plants, chemical process and energy plants, aerospace components, medical technology, automotive and transport technology, and dynamic motion applications such as hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.
